Construction & Home Remodel

We started the FRS Construction division when we saw property owners needed to get back into their home after an emergency. In order to help property owners and facility managers get back in their buildings faster, we started a reconstruction rebuild department. With our quality of work and timeliness, we later found there was a demand with our customers to offer residential & commercial construction services. If you need a kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, basement remodel, office remodel or any other type of construction or home remodel, FRS Construction can help you. We service the Asheville, Hendersonville, Brevard, NC and surrounding areas.

Construction FAQs

What’s the difference between mitigation and repair (rebuild)?

Mitigation is the immediate response that stops damage from getting worse and stabilizes the structure. It typically includes emergency water extraction, drying, dehumidification, containment/air filtration, cleaning, and documentation. Repair (also called rebuild or reconstruction) is the restoration of finishes and building materials after the structure is dry and safe—drywall, insulation, trim, paint, flooring, cabinets, roofing, framing, and any required code-related repairs. Think of mitigation as “stop the bleeding and dry it correctly,” and repair as “put it back like it was.” Many projects need both phases, but they’re different scopes, timelines, and trades.

Can you match existing paint, texture, flooring, or cabinets?

We work hard to match existing finishes, but exact matches aren’t always possible due to age, sun fading, discontinued products, and differences in batch runs. Paint can shift over time, textures vary by installer technique, and flooring or cabinetry lines may no longer be available. We’ll document any match constraints up front and help you choose the best practical outcome for your budget and timeline. The goal is to minimize noticeable differences while being transparent about what’s achievable, especially when insurance coverage limits replacement beyond the damaged area.

How do you prevent dust from spreading during demolition and repairs?

Dust control starts with isolating work areas and protecting unaffected spaces. We use plastic containment barriers, zipper doors, floor protection, and—when conditions warrant—air filtration and negative pressure to reduce dust migration. We also follow cleaning and debris removal practices that keep the jobsite manageable, including HEPA vacuuming where appropriate and regular wipe-downs of transition paths. For occupied homes, we plan daily access routes and discuss how to keep families and pets away from the work zone. Containment isn’t one-size-fits-all; the right setup depends on the scope of demolition, the type of materials involved, and whether any contaminants are present. Our aim is a safe, clean, controlled project environment.
